Solevant: My Journey to Redefine Software Discovery for the World

This is Solevant, my passion, my fight, my gift to the world. From a question in Lagos to a platform with global reach, it’s about breaking down barriers and lifting voices. Let’s keep the story going.

History: A Vision Born from a Global Gap

Solevant began with a question that wouldn’t let me go: why does finding the right software feel so out of reach for so many? I’m Isreal Oyarinde, a law graduate from Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ife, Nigeria, and my journey to create Solevant started in the bustling chaos of Lagos.

As someone trained to dissect systems and solve problems, I couldn’t ignore the disconnect I saw in the tech world. Traditional software review platforms, like the ones I’d browse late at night, were obsessed with North America and Europe. If you were a startup founder in Lagos, a shop owner in Nairobi, or a teacher in São Paulo, good luck finding tools that fit your reality. The options were either irrelevant, overpriced, or buried under a mountain of generic recommendations.

That frustration hit me hard. I’d spent years in Lagos watching entrepreneurs and dreamers build incredible things, only to stumble because they couldn’t find the right software, HR tools that worked with local payroll systems, POS solutions that handled mobile payments like OPay, or CRMs tailored to regional markets. My legal background taught me to spot inequities, but my curiosity about technology pushed me to fix them. I wasn’t a developer by trade, but I rolled up my sleeves, taught myself to code, and started sketching out a platform that could change the game.

Solevant was born from that spark, a next-generation software discovery, review, and community hub with an inclusive, global soul. I launched it in a tiny Lagos office, armed with a laptop, a shaky internet connection, and a vision to make software accessible to everyone, everywhere.

The early days were messy: I scraped data by hand, built clunky prototypes, and wrestled with bugs that seemed to multiply overnight. But every setback fueled me further. I hired a small team, developers and data enthusiasts who shared my dream, and together, we turned Solevant into something real. What started as a solo mission has grown into a platform that’s now poised to reshape how the world finds and uses software. This isn’t just a project; it’s my way of leveling the playing field.

Mission: Empowering Through Localized, Transparent Software Solutions

My mission with Solevant is simple but ambitious: I want to empower people, whether they’re in Nigeria, Brazil, or Bangladesh, by giving them software recommendations that make sense for their lives. Too many platforms treat the world like it’s one big Western market, leaving millions of users with tools that don’t fit their needs. A small business in Africa might need SeamlessHR or Moniepoint, not some overpriced giant built for Silicon Valley. I saw that gap, and I built Solevant to close it.

Here’s the problem: software discovery is broken. If you’re outside the US or Europe, you’re stuck sifting through irrelevant options or paying for features you’ll never use. Even when you find something promising, the data’s shallow, vague star ratings or salesy blurbs don’t tell you if it’ll work in your market.

I’ve met founders who wasted months on tools that couldn’t integrate with local systems, and nonprofits who gave up because the reviews didn’t mention compliance in their region. It’s not just inconvenient, it’s a barrier to growth.

Solevant fixes that with a three-pronged approach. First, localized relevance: when you search for software, say, HR or POS, our geolocation tech detects where you are and tailors the results. A Nigerian user sees SeamlessHR and Pay HR; a Latin American retailer gets POS options like Vend.

Second, transparent insights: I’ve packed Solevant with deep, actionable data, ratings, integrations, pricing, even security certifications, so you can decide with confidence. Third, community power: this isn’t my platform alone, it’s ours. Users review, edit, and discuss software, building a living, breathing knowledge base that’s as real-time as it is reliable.

This isn’t about profit or gatekeeping, it’s about empowerment. I want a teacher in Kenya to find tools that boost her classroom, a startup in India to nail its tech stack, and a vendor in Mexico to thrive, all without breaking the bank. Solevant’s core is free and community-driven because software should unlock potential, not hold it hostage.

Services: A Platform Built for Everyone, Everywhere

Solevant isn’t just a dream, it’s a practical, powerful ecosystem I’ve crafted to solve real-world problems. Every feature is designed to make software discovery intuitive, inclusive, and impactful. Here’s what I’ve built and how it works:

  • Geolocation-Based Software Discovery
The Challenge: Generic search results that ignore your region’s needs.
My Solution: Solevant detects your location, via IP or settings, and prioritizes software that’s relevant to your market. Filters let you sort by country, language, or category (HR, CRM, POS, you name it). A retailer in Ghana sees Moniepoint; a marketer in the Middle East finds tools with Arabic support. It’s discovery that feels personal, not cookie-cutter.
  • Comprehensive Software Profiles
The Challenge: Shallow data that leaves you guessing.
My Solution: Every software listing is a goldmine, name, vendor, features, pricing tiers, integrations (APIs, cloud options), user reviews, even compliance details like GDPR or cybersecurity stats. Want screenshots? Videos? Case studies? It’s all there. I’ve made sure you get the full picture, ratings for ease of use, setup, support—so you’re never flying blind.
  • Community Forum & Collaboration Hub
The Challenge: Isolated users with nowhere to share or learn.
My Solution: Solevant’s community is a hybrid of Reddit and Wikipedia. Post reviews, join discussions, and suggest edits anonymously with a burner ID if you want. Our wiki-style system lets anyone update listings or propose new ones, with peer reviews keeping it accurate. It’s a space where a developer in Lagos can swap tips with a founder in Manila.
  • AI-Powered Data Engine
The Challenge: Outdated info in a fast-moving tech world.
My Solution: My AI tools scrape data from websites, news, and directories, validating it in real time. They track trends, flag dead startups for our “startup graveyard,” and recommend software based on your behavior. It’s like having a research team that never sleeps, ensuring Solevant stays fresh and relevant.

These aren’t just features, they’re lifelines. A Nigerian startup uses our profiles to pick a CRM that syncs with local payment apps. A Brazilian educator collaborates on open-source tools via the forum. My AI spots a rising POS system in Asia before it hits mainstream reviews. Solevant’s built to serve the world, one user at a time.

Client Impact: Real Stories, Real Change

Solevant’s heart beats in the stories of the people it’s helped. I’ve watched it transform businesses, spark ideas, and empower communities. Here’s how it’s making a difference:

  • A Nigerian Startup’s Leap
Chinedu, a fintech founder, was drowning in US-centric software options. Solevant’s geolocation filters showed him Moniepoint and Bento, tools built for Africa. With our detailed profiles, he compared integrations and picked a winner. Six months later, his user base grew 40%. “Solevant gets my market,” he told me. That’s the impact I live for.
  • A Kenyan Educator’s Breakthrough
Grace, a university lecturer, needed software to track student progress. Solevant’s community forum led her to an open-source tool, vetted by peers. She tweaked it with help from our wiki system, and her department’s retention rate jumped 10%. “It’s like you built this for me,” she said. Hearing that lights up my world.
  • A Brazilian Retailer’s Turnaround
João ran a small shop but couldn’t find a POS system that fit his budget and region. Solevant’s localized search surfaced Vend, with reviews praising its integrations. He implemented it, streamlined payments, and boosted sales by 25%. “You saved my business,” he emailed me. That’s Solevant in action.
  • A Global Developer’s Gratitude
Priya, an Indian coder, used our AI-driven insights to spot a niche HR tool before her competitors. She joined our community, shared a review, and now mentors others. “Solevant’s data is gold,” she says. Empowering innovators like her keeps me going.

These stories aren’t just wins, they’re proof that localized, transparent software discovery changes lives. From Lagos to São Paulo, Solevant’s turning frustration into opportunity.

Future Vision: A Global Ecosystem for a Connected World

Solevant’s come a long way, but I’m nowhere near done. The tech world’s evolving, AI’s booming, regions are rising, and I’m pushing Solevant to lead the charge. Here’s where I’m headed:

  • AI-Powered Growth
I’m building smarter AI to predict trends, refine recommendations, and auto-curate content. Imagine Solevant suggesting a POS system before you even know you need it, based on your market and habits. That’s the future I’m coding now.
  • Global Expansion
We started with the US and Europe, but I’m taking Solevant to Africa, Asia, Latin America, and beyond. More regional data, localized filters, and partnerships with local vendors, it’s about making every corner of the world feel seen.
  • Community & Education
I’m launching training programs for technical writers, starting in Nigeria with laptops and stipends, and weaving Solevant into schools. Picture students mastering software skills with real tools, or professionals collaborating at global hackathons. It’s capacity-building with a purpose.
  • A Thriving Ecosystem
Solevant’s growing beyond reviews, think directories for vendors, job boards, open-source docs, even financial tools like budgeting apps. My “startup graveyard” will track fallen companies, turning data into lessons. It’s one interconnected hub for all things software.

My vision is a world where software isn’t a privilege, it’s a right. I see Solevant as the go-to resource, blending AI precision with community wisdom to empower billions. It’s a big dream, but I’ve got the grit to make it real. Join me, let’s build this future together.
